Here below are some swimmers that already experience the challenge at Lough Erne either by swimming solo in the 17k event or competing on a relay team on the 80k course.

It is hard to believe it's 22 years since the first event, I have great memory of my first experience at this distance, the big lesson for me was I needed to do more training, the course was my favourite location and I enjoyed it so much.

For me this
was a tough swim at just over six hours, most of it enjoyable with
some wonderful scenery especially
near the finish with the old SDL
Railway Bridge and the beautiful concert hall and then finally
the wonderful vista of the island fortress town of Enniskillen .
The water was quite warm, buoyant and I never felt cold
but I still appreciated the hot showers at the
finish.
